Boo-tober at Take Root kicks off TODAY with the release of our limited edition 2024 Spooky Season T-Shirts, and Jack-O-Lantern egg grab! 🎃

With every purchase, customers will have a chance to grab a Jack-O-Latern egg at our checkout. Each egg will contain a coupon for a discount off your next purchase, a gift card to the shop, and more!

Our Spooky Season 2024 shirts are finally here, and we’re absolutely OBSESSED!!

The best part about these shirts? They came to life using all local designers/businesses!

We brainstormed the idea, our friend @tyler_royer_ designed our spooky little snail, @specialteesmd screen printed the shirts, and then @todyefor.and.more worked her magic to bring the colors to life ✨

Due to their hand dyed nature, each and every shirt is slightly different in color, making them true one-of-a-kind creations. @todyefor.and.more really killed it (but who’s surprised), and we couldn’t be happier with the uniqueness of each and every shirt 🐌

Can’t make it in this weekend? We’ll be releasing a link to purchase the shirts online for either in-store pick up, or shipping! Link can be found in our bio at 11am this morning, giving everyone a fair chance to snag a shirt!

Since these shirts are limited edition, we won’t be getting more in, so be sure to grab yours this weekend!

All Hallows’ Eve Terrarium Workshop 💀

When: Sunday, Oct. 20th
1:00pm-2:00pm

Cost: $55/pp (link in bio!)

Celebrate spooky season with us by building a graveyard themed bioactive terrarium!

In this class, you will be making a little graveyard ecosystem from start to finish. You will be given all the supplies needed to do this, as well as items to take home with you to help maintain the health of your terrarium. These items include:

• A large glass terrarium with lid
• Substrates such as soil, sand, and horticultural charcoal
• Springtails (super tiny insects that clean the soil and maintain terrarium health)
• Plant cuttings
• Little plastic skeletons, grave stones, spooky fences
• A plastic squeeze bottle for watering

You will be given in depth instruction on how to care for your terrarium, as well as have time to ask any and all questions related to the terrarium!

Enjoy fall themed treats and refreshments as you build your own little bioactive graveyard!

All attendees will also receive a coupon that they can use at Take Root!

We are super thankful the rain stayed away, and can’t wait to celebrate Fall Fest with you ☺️

Fall Fest kicks off tomorrow, Friday Sept. 27th at 4pm in Everedy Square & Shab Row, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you 🍂

There are so many fun things happening tomorrow, including:
• Live pumpkin carving
• Free drinks & treats at many of the businesses
• Carved pumpkin contest
• Make your own pinch pot ghost at the Little Pottery Shop

And so much more!

Punch cards are also making a comeback! Starting at 4pm, snag a punch card from any of the participating businesses and get it punched by all the businesses on the card for a chance to win a gift basket made up of items from businesses in Everedy Square & Shab Row✨

Grab your coffee and head to our Besties Who Brunch event this Sunday, September 29th from 11am-2pm to make your very own Gilmore Girls Fall inspired air plant terrarium!

Terrarium supplies will feature pumpkins, tiny books, little fall leaves, an air plant, and of course, a coffee mug ☕️

All materials are included in the cost ($24) and will be while supplies last. This will be a walk up terrarium bar, so no tickets needed to enter the event or to build a terrarium!

We can’t wait to see your own little Stars Hollow terrarium come to life ☺️🍁

The Besties Who Brunch event will be held at our event space @takerootgreenroom, located at 320 E Church St. Frederick, MD 21701 🌿

Join Kathy from @phwoolandneedle (a.k.a my mom!) on Sunday, October 13th at our new event space, The Green Room, as she shows you step by step how to felt your very own Forest Toadstool!

Each student will receive a kit that includes felting wool, wool mat, and four color- coded felting needles, and detailed instructions.

Since this is a longer class, light refreshments and snacks will be served!

Due to the use of felting needles, we ask that all attendees are ages 15+ to avoid any potential injury.

We can’t wait to see you in class! 🌿


